    It's your typical american Tex-Mex restaurant. However, we do enjoy their lunch buffet. Decent prices for a variety of options that I would have ordered some combination of anyway. Food quality has always been consistent between visits, which is a plus.

    My friends and I went for a gno. Service was terrible. One of us never even got our order. There were only 7 of us. Tables all around us were seated after we arrived, and they got their food, paid and left before we were served. The kicker is that when I called the manager to inform him that the server needed more training, he just told me to find another place. And this was not just the manager, but the owner!     The food is good, and the wait staff are attentive. I would have given them a solid 4 star but there was a kid issue. It seems one of the manager’s brings in their 2 young boys and lets them run wild. I’m talking a full on marathon, these kids were running round and round the dining room panting and sweating and making all kind of noise.

    I like Mexican food, and I have been to lots of a Mexican restaurants. None of them taste better than La Altena. The place is simply Amazing! The staff are happy and friendly, and the owner is usually in the restaurant checking on everybody. I have ordered carryout as well, and I was impressed with how quickly and perfectly they get the order.
